trust
3months before my dad died he put the trustee on his check book in joint tenancy should the 2beneficiary receive there share on the amount in check book and is there taxes on money being not in the trust spelled out

I don't quite follow the question. If he established a living (inter vivos) trust, and the trustee of that trust were a joint tenant on the checking account as trustee and not an individual, then the money in the account would belong to the beneficiaries of the trust. If, on the other hand, the trustee as an individual is named as a joint tenant, then the money in the account would belong to the joint tenant. So, it depends on the specifics of in whose name the account actually was held.
