Legal Question in Product Liability in California

Work performed caused other damage

I recently took my car into Midas to have a upper ball joint and wheel axle replacement. When I left the shop my car was in worse condition. They messed up my struts (shocks) in the process of completing the work I authorized. When I brought the car back, they told me my alternative was for them to put the old part back on or pay an extra $500 to have it repaired. They messed up my car after already paying them $750.00. What type of recourse do I have? This isn't right and I feel as though I'm about to get bilked. I have already given them $800 to complete the other work. PLEASE ADVISE as soon as possible, I cannot continue to drive my car this way and it was their fault.

Thank you for your attention and insight.

Make a written complaint to the Bureau of Automotive Repair for the State of California. You can sue in small claims court. You will need proof however to prevail. You should probably get the repair work done elsewhere.
