Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Not so, $12,244.40 Damages to rental house

I rented a house for a little over two (2) years and had a $1200.00 deposit I expected to have returned except for cleaning. I recieved a notice form an insurance company with a cost of $12,244.40 in damages that they payed and they want me to reimburse them this amount.

I disagree with this. It seems the house was remodeled and I'm asked to pay for this.

Do I have to pay this

you do not have to pay anything unless they get a judgment and you are entitled to a jury trial.
