Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I got a 7 day notice that my dog can not be outside in my yard I have had an outside dog since I moved in in 2015 in the original rental agreement I signed it makes no mention of not being allowed to have a dog outside in the yard. However the new proposed rule from April of 2022 they have included you can not have a dog outside however there are many parts where management contradicts this rule themselves, for example for all protection others all animals must be on leash when not within a home or enclosed yard [if enclosure is permitted in accordance with these rules].And yet another example If on the effective date of the rules and regulations the resident was allowed the keeping of said animal was not in violation of the previous rules and regulations the resident may continue to keep the animals if they otherwise comply with rules and regulations regarding animals. So I am confused by all these contradictory rules and regulations? I never got any notice from the time I moved in until a new manager took over now all of the sudden my dog can't be in my yard legally do I have to comply or should I point out all the contradictions to management ?

I don't see any contradictions. There is a huge difference between having an "outside dog" and letting a dog outside in a yard for reasonably brief periods of time. The second scenario is where the part about not having to be on a leash comes in. Saying a resident can still keep a pet doesn't mean they can leave the pet out in their yard. It says you can keep a pet if you comply with all other rules. So unless you have a prior rule that says you can have an "outdoor dog," rather than an indoor dog who sometimes goes out in the yard briefly or goes out on a leash, There doesn't seem to be any contradictions in saying you are not allowed to leave your dog out in your yard.
