60 or 30 days

our landlords are moving back into our house. They gave us a 30 day notice. We have never been late with rent and have been xlnt tenents. We need one more month. Should he have given us 60 or 30 days. We have lived here for a year and a half.

Yes, it's 60 days for one-year-plus tenancies unless the owners are selling to someone who intends to move in. Owners moving back in themselves seems to require 60 days notice under current law. See Civil Code section 1946.1 for the full text of the current (temporary) law.
