how does an 18 year old get her personal items from her mothers house, when her mother will not let her. she has moved out and still has her furniture plus other items there?

The best method is by negotiation and persuasion. The worst method is by lawbreaking, such as burglary or breaking and entering (which could be charged against you since you no longer reside there). In between, there are various kinds of legal actions you could take, ranging from paying a lawyer to write and send a demand letter, to filing one or another kind of lawsuit, asking for return of the property or money damages for its value.
