Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I am 14 years old, a minor. I live with my mom and she constantly threatens to take possessions I purchased with my own money. She threatens me because I defend myself or "talk back". She also threaten to take my computer that I bought from a friend with my money because I break it a lot. I am VERY gifted in computers and when I "break" my computer, I end up making it faster. Can she take what I purchase with my own money? I need actual data not yes or no answers. Thank you.

No one will reply with what your are considering legal adivce as you are a minor - that is why you will get NO and yes etc... you have no ability to contract to enter into a contract with a lawyer so you must turn to the court system - hint Probate Code, maybe more look into the legal services for minors in your county

Good Luck - that really sucks wish I could help.

I think I answered your question, or one very much like it, a few weeks ago. It was expressed as whether a minor could own property, and I furnished you with citations to California laws (statutes) showing that the answer is YES. However, there is another issue here, in addition to ownership of property, and that is the right of parents to discipline and control their children. Your mother cannot totally deprive you of your property, for example, by taking it and selling it and keeping the money. On the other hand, your mother can tell you when, where and how to use your computer
