Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
When abandoned personal property can be disposed of by a landlord
Is there a legal time limit for personal property to be considered abandoned, in a private residence situation, that is required of a landlord to hold personal property of an evicted tenant, that was intensionally left behind, before the landlord disposes of it, and what notificiation to the prior tenant is required of intent to dispose of such property, if any?

The rights of landlord and former tenant are set forth by statute and the landlord's responsibilities are rather strict. The code prescribes a form of notice to be given. You should look at the code itself, section 1951.3 of the Civil Code. It is available at county law libraries, most public libraries, and on line.
