Is it possible to add a spouse to the deed of a property in the state of CA without re-aasesment of the property taxes? Background info: Husband purchase house from stepmother prior to getting married and was grant deeded onto the house. Current deed includes husband and stepmother. If we add myself on, will it be re-assessed?

No. Inter-spousal transfers do not result in a reassessment.

No. But make sure that the Preliminary Change of Ownership form is correctly filled out to timely claim the exemption.
