Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I am being asked to compensate for something I do not remember doing. The plaintiffs are alleging that I vandalized their door by taring down a wreathe on their door. They are going through the building's management. Management has sent me pictures of doing nothing out of the ordinary nor do I have the alleged wreathe in my hand. I have asked for receipts of the wreathe which they do not have. I also have asked for any additional video, pictures and documents but management will not give those to me. Management notified me of this alleged incident late November 20009 and did not respond to me until mid January 2010. This has not been taken to the police department but they are threatening to do so. What should I do?
