Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My ex has asked our daughter to testify on his behalf in a land dispute case in California.

He is saying that she needs to miss a full week of school (She lives with me in Oregon) as his trial may take all week. My question is: Does she need to be available the entire time or can she testify early on and then come home? She is 15, a sophomore in High School.

Your husband - or whoever has subpoenaed your daughter to appear and testify in court - would be able to have her "on call" and/or to specify the exact time/day of her testimony in order to minimize her missing school. Also, i am not sure - if this is a california state action - that any court can "order" a minor from another state to appear in court. so, i'm not sure she even HAS to appear. But if she WANTS to appear in court to testify, then the court will accommodate her schedule to minimize time lost at school.
