Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I have a bankruptcy on my credit report after my divorce about one year ago. I would now like to get my real estate salespersons license. Will the bankruptcy on my credit report prevent me from obtaining the real estate license? I live in California. Thank you for your help.

I would think it has no effect, but call up the Department of Real Estate since they over see that occupation.
