Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

"Beware of Dog" sign

I currently have two doberman dogs in my back yard who have been professionally trained to attack intruders. I posted "Beware of Dog" signs (the standard 8 1/2" by 11" signs obtained at my local hardware store), one on the gate leading into my back yard from the front and one on the gate leading into the back yard from the back.

I have now been informed by my local homeowners assoc. that I must remove the signs as their CC & R's do not allow for signs. Is there California Law stating that I must post signs giving notice or it just prudent to use such signs to provide notice to potential intruders?

Re:

Calif law does not require any signs. Be careful with those dogs though, In Calif you are strictly liable for any dog bites.
