Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Hi, I bought a laptop for my ex boyfriend over a year ago that cost about 1400dollars. He has not paid a cent back and I am tired of waiting, is there any way I can sue him? he has a green card but lives in Mexico. I have the paid receipt on my bank card and online statement. He did not sign anything since it was supposed to be a mutual agreement.

You could consider suing in either Mexico or California. I can only speak to California.
Yes, a suit in California is possible. However, it would be complicated and expensive. You couldn't use Small Claims Court. Service of process on the defendant alone could be a problem. See Code of Civil Procedure sections 413.10(c) and 415.40.
If you were successful, and got a judgment (probably a default judgment), how would you go about collecting the judgment from him?
