Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Can we break the lease if we move to another country?
We had sign a year lease on 1stJuly1999, but due to some personal matters, we had to move back to asia on mid march 2000. So I intend to give my landlord 3 months notices before I move. Do you think I have the right to break the lease if I have reason to move.

No!!
The fact that you wish to or need to move to another country does not allow you to break the lease. However, the landlord must take reasonable steps to rerent the property. In many areas of California the rental market is tight. Thus it should be relatively easy for him to relet the property. If the property is rerented you would be released from your obligation on the lease.
