Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
My brother and I own a property in California, in which I reside, equally. In establishing this situation, we have a Deed of Trust and Promissory Note between us, where I am the beneficiary of a certain amount. Since then, we have agreed to cancel the above, and create a Deed and Note where my brother is the beneficiary, so that I may have sole ownership of the property. The question is: Do we require legal counsel to carry this out, or could we handle the documents ourselves, using perhaps the original documents as templates?
