Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My brothers name and mine will be put on the deed after the life estate term is up. He wants his $ of the house, I want to continue living here. What are my options? Can he force the sale and force me out of the house? I cared for both our parents for 20 years, he did not. I have lived her continuously. what are my options?

Who is the life estate in favor of? You, or someone else? Are you the life tenant, or a remainderman? How is it measured, by your life or someone else's?
