My buddy rode my streetbike and layed it down can I sue him for the damages or am I liable

You may sue anyone for anything you want. The question of will you win is another question entirely. If he damaged your bike, then certainly suing him for the damage he caused cannot be said to be "frivolous," however, there some additional facts that could play into a decision of who is liable. Right off the top of my head - how much experience with that type of motorcycle did he have? Was it completely negligent of you to allow him to ride it? Again, it is impossible to say based on your one-sentence post that you will or will not win, but you can certainly attempt to collect it from him.

If he was negligent in how he drove the bike, then you could sue him for the damages to teh bike. If he had no fault, he has no liability.
