Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I am in California. The trees on my side of the property line are losing their leaves. The leaves that fall on my neighbor's side are ending back on my side as my neighbor blows them, or hoses them, over the property line and up a pathway. Should it not be that what falls, or naturally blows, on their side is their responsibility? These are the same people who moved in over a year ago and told me there were two options about those trees......"Cut them down or trim them."

If the tree's trunk is entirely on your property, then it is your tree. That also means that it is your responsibility. Your neighbor has the right to prune the tree limbs back to the property line, and the tree leaves are your responsibility.

If you had a dog who crapped on your neighbor's lawn, would you say that because it fell on his property it is his responsibility?
