Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I got a call from someone saying I took out a payday loan and didnt pay it back, when I asked for the company's name and phone number to get more information about this loan he would not give it to me I never had any money deposited into the bank account they have on file. how do i fight this

You don't have to take calls from anonymous bozos with bogus claims. If I were you, however, I would pull my credit reports to check for identity theft. Do not give out your bank account number.

In addition to the possibility suggested by Mr. Stone - that this is a bogus claim from some shaakedown artist - there is another possibility. Maybe the caller works for a legitimate loan company, and someone took out a loan using your identification and deposited the proceeds in his own bank account. Could be either one. May be a matter for the police; you might call them and ask to speak with a duty officer in the "white collar crimes" division or detail.
