Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

I'm closing on a short sale next week. The only copy of the fully executed contract is barely legible after multiple scans and faxes. I don't want to stress the system, but I don't think this form would be accepted in a court of law as a legal document. How important is it to have a legible copy of the purchase contract for my records? What's the value of a signed purchase contract after the sale is completed?
