Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My condo was foreclosed in may 2011..i am behind in hmo fees about 10 months or a year..at 275.00 per month...collection agency wants 3700.00 to settle..offer expired while i was still trying to negotiate with them...they sent me a letter the next day asking for almost double the amount until the 23 of this month....and must be paid in 45 days...after that it goes up even more...I would like to settle this outright but i dont want to pay double for this.....how much are they due ..a years dues???

What they are due is governed by the CC&R's and HOA By-laws. Without reading those, there is no way to tell if they are demanding more than they could legally collect or not. They are most certainly adding on interest and fees, probably including attorneys fees. Whether or not all the added charges are authorized is determined by the documents.
