cons on a family LLC

What are the cons of joining a limited liability company, if I don't own interest in all the properties listed in the company?

I would have co-ownership in two of the four businesses. Could I be liable if one of company(I don't own) is sued? 4 owners own all properties, 2 owners only 2 of the properties. Do we need more than 1 LLC ?
