Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
I have a contract in place to sell my home. It is an all cash transaction. My question concerns posession by the seller. In order to occupy my new home, I need money to move. I tried to get the buyer to agree to close early and rent back, but he refuses. What would happen if I just was a few days slow getting out of the home?

You would be liable for unlawful detainer just like a tenant who refuses to move out.
