Corrections that the builder/contractor agrees to repair and doesn't
When a contractor agrees to make corrections on a new house being built, and never makes the corrections they just keep the construction moving forward. And we keep bringing the same issues up to the liscensed contactor and keeps telling us every thing would be fixed,"in their own time" What rights do you have before you close escrow?

Re: Corrections that the builder/contractor agrees to repair and doesn't
You should get as much of your dispute in writing (the demand to correct the mistakes and the contractor's promises) since quality of evidence is often decisive whether this matter is resolved by negotiation or in court. Photographs may also be helpful.
Escrow is not supposed to close until all parties are satisfied that all others have met their obligations.
You should obtain advice from any real-estate agent or broker, architect or other professional you have retained, from the escrow officer assigned, or by initial consultation with an attorney experienced in handling construction disputes.
The earlier you obtain correction of the problems the less costly the resolution of the problems is likely to be for you.
