Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Cosigned for house

In 2005, I cosigned a house for my aunt in Texas. I was told after 2 yrs I can be taken off. She pays the mortgage but theyre late either a month or two. Now, my credit card company has lowered my credit limit significantly. What can I do? Can I assume the loan completely and force her out? I was planning to buy a home this year and now this is affecting me. Please help!

Re: Cosigned for house

You can ask her to transfer the house to you and move, but not much else. You can pay the mortgage timely and keep track of what she owes you and take a second mortgage on the property for what she owes.
