being counter-sued for filing assault charges

I was physically assuaulted by a patron on my job, not leading to injury. I want to file charges and he threatened to countersuit if I did. What can I do to protect my assests from his actions?

Nothing. He has the right to sue you, just like you have the right to sue him.
