Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

County Road Maintence

As tax payers we pay for county road maintence. However, we live on a road that the county does not maintain. Can we petition the country to maintain our road? When our development was first built the residents were under the impression that the roads were going to be built to a better standard. What cases can we site to support our argument that the county should maintain our roads.

The county must accept the dedication of the road from the land owners to the county as a road. The county is not required to accept the dedication of the road. You however, have some control over who uses the road.
