Court Judgement

yes were went to court for an eviction the judge told us while in the court room that ave to hand over the property. he said we would have until the first of the year to do so. this was on Dec. 1oth 2001, today i recevied the papaer from the sheriffs department which said we were to be out by Dec 20th . is there anything we can do to stop having to be out by the 20th of dec. thank you very much deperste in cali.

Go to the court and get a copy of the "Minutes" which are notes of what the judge ordered when you were in court. Get a copy certified if they support your claim about what the judge ordered. Then show that to the sheriff and ask him to delay removal until then. Also send a written protest to the landlord and his attorney if they are violating a court order, and provide a copy to the court and the sheriff. Or get an attorney or Legal Aid to assist ASAP.
