Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Court Order and Deed

I recorded the Order of Final Distribution in the Los Angeles County Recorder's office. This shows my deceased Sister's house has been granted in equal shares to my Brother and myself. Is a ''Grant Deed'' document now necessary to record so it will confirm the court order, or is there another type of Deed? In order for my brother and myself to assume the mortgage loan, the loan company is requested a ''Deed'' and not a copy of the court order.

Re: Court Order and Deed

If you don't get an answer under the real estate heading, try re-asking under the estates or probate heading on LawGuru. Although the question involves real property, it is a matter that would be more often handled by attorneys who work in the estates and probate administration area. My hunch is that this does not call for a deed, and I think there is another kind of document that is recorded to show inheritance of real property at the close of probate, but I have not dealt with it in 25 years and can't remember what it is.
