Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My daughter moved into her grandmothers house. Grandmother moved into a assisted living facility. My daughter pays no rent. Living there to do upkeep on the house. Woman claims she fell down in front of the house. California law states the sidewalk is homeowners responsibility. My daughter did not see her fall. The woman sent her husband to the door to let my daughter know what happened. The husband of the woman did not see her fall either. My daughter said she was not hurt, no visible signs at all. The city came out the next day and patched the sidewalk where the tree roots were lifting the sidewalk. The woman said she was fine. Three days later my daughter found a letter in the mailbox from this woman saying she broke her camera and she wants my daughter to pay $180.00 to replace it. The house is in a trust and there is home owners insurance. Do I call the insurance company and tell them what happened? Im not sure who I am suppose to call. I have the control over the trust and my moms finances. Could you let me know. Never have gone through anything like this before. Thank you

My inclination would be to report this to the insurance agent and follow the agent's advice.
