Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My daughter rented an apartment last month. I signed the lease with her because she has no income. Later on, her boyfriend moved in and he went to the rental office and signed the lease. She now wants him to move out. I have paid the rent for last month and this month as well as the utilities. Does he have any legal right to remain in the apartment since he's on the lease?

I presume he signed with her permission so he is a co-tenant and has the same rights as she does.

Did you sign the lease as a tenant, or as a guarantor? Actually, it may not matter, since I believe any tenant has the right to admit an additional cotenant without the permission of any other tenant. So, I'd say yes, he has a right to remain in the apartment as a valid cotenant.
