Deposit Refund

Legally how many days does a landlord have to refund a security deposit after the property has been vacated?

Within three weeks (21 days) the landlord must mail or deliver an itemized statement of deductions from the deposit and refund the remaining balance. Civil Code �1950.5(f). For commercial tenancy, see Civil Code �1950.7(c).
