Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Disability and Foreclosure

I am a disabled single man, 50 y/o. My property was sold in foreclosure auction Dec 12, 2006. I was told by mortgage consultant that I have to leave the property by Jan 1, 2007. Since I am disabled do I have more time to vacate?

thanks

Re: Disability and Foreclosure

If you do not vacate voluntarily, the new owner can serve you with a 3-day notice to quit. If you do not leave after the expiration of 3 days, the new owner can file an eviction lawsuit againt you. After that, it is between you, the new owner and the court system.
