Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Disagreement on Appraisal

I own 25% of my deceased mother's home. In July 2008 I requested that my interest be bought out. It is now November and my brother and sisters (who own the other 75%) are just now getting the house appraised. What date should be used and what if my appraisal does not agree with their's?

Re: Disagreement on Appraisal

What did you and your siblings agree to with respect to the valuation date?

If you and your siblings cant agree, you may be able to file a partition action, (provided you have not waived this right), and the courts will force the sale of the property.
