Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
following divorce that states property was to be listed for short sale, sale is now down to wire and x spouse refuses to sign docs. Any recourse?

The judge has the power to have a clerk sign for the ex-spouse. You need to call this to the judge's attention, perhaps via an ex-parte appearance. If you need, and don't get, a more detailed answer, perhaps re-ask under a divorce or family law topic heading on LawGuru.

In addition to having the judge appoint the clerk to sign for your ex spouse, nothing gets things moving in family law like filing an affidavit of contempt, and having the court issue an Order to Show Cause re: Contempt.
