Check with your local Recorder's Office as to what their procedures are. I know for sure some documents do not need to be notarized to be recorded. Notrization is done to protect the party who will be claiming the document signatures are valid; the Recorder certainly prefers notarization but it may not be mandatory. There is no time limit as to filing a notarized or any document with the Recorder's Office, unless the statutue creating that right/document specifically requires it.
