landlord says she will evict tenent my boyfriend if i

move in,can she do this????

There is a second issue here, too. That is whether landlords can evict tenants based on some supposed morality issue. Used to be that unmarried couples sharing a place were 'living in sin,' and that warranted an eviction. Attitudes have changed, and that, standing alone, is no longer an acceptable reason to evict otherwise good tenants.

It depends on what the lease says. A lease normally limits the number of people who are living in a unit, and usually names them in the lease. If the lease or renal agreement makes such limitations, the landlord could begin the eviction process.

The better tact for you would be to talk to the landlord about being added to the renatl or lease agreement.
