Re: Eviction Removal from credit history?

Times are tough; and, believe it or not, it's likely you'll be able to find a landlord who won't check your credit. Sometimes landlords just pocket the $35 fee they claim is for the credit check! Plan B, have a big bankroll of Ben Franklins when you meet the landlord and offer to pay the rent and security deposit in cash. Obviously these tactics won't work with big rule-bound corporate landlords, but there are others. Try craigslist.org

As for laundering your credit report, make sure you are looking at your "tenant" credit report from a company like SafeRent as opposed to regular credit reports from Experian/Trans Union/Equifax. Usually landlords only use the "tenant" reporting agencies. Use the Fair Credit Reporting Act and challenge the negative entries, maybe you will get lucky and the item won't be verified within the 30 days and it will get removed. Try creditboards.com
