Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
My ex-mother in law is suing me in small claims court
I have been surved to appear in small claims court this friday. My ex-mother in law is the plaintiff. Her claim is from one year ago, when her son (my ex-husband) and I were living in one of her houses. There is a unpaid telephone bill from this residence. However, she has chosen to sue only myself and leave her son whom is living with her out of it. My ex and I had made arrangments with this bill. He was to use our tax money to pay his mother. He resided at the address yet did not hold to our agreement. I'm wondering if it is legal to sue only one part of the party involved? Please help me?
The amount of the bill is $1223.90
