Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

Fair appraisal

During Probate, sibling's atty hired appraiser & valued house TOO high @ time of death by about $35K. Now, year later, valued TOO LOW because he used Listing Agt's numbers. My family keeps getting short end of stick. The RE Agt is in collusion with Probate atty & she took house off mkt while ofr pending & accepted same ofr @ $20K LOWER but used colleague rather than buyer's orig agt. List Agt is sending only her friends to house - I guess they want to STEAL our family estate by working in concert against Fair Mkt Value.

Re: Fair appraisal

Has YOUR family considered hiring its own attorney, appraiser and real-estate professional? Whoever takes charge of a situation is likely to come out on top. You didn't say whether the sibling is acting in some official capacity, such as executor. Is there a bond in place? Executors and trustees owe duties to the other heirs and beneficiaries. If there is mistrust, it is high time to have your own professionals step in and make waves on your behalf.
