Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

What is fair compensation, if any?

I am being evicted by the city because the guesthouse I am living in is not a legal rental. My landlady did not inform about it being illegal before I rented. I have lived here for only two months; have found another place to live. However, I have lost 2 weeks of work, phone line installation, numerous specific products purchases(curtains, wallpaper, etc) that are non-refundable, & moving expenses. I feel jipped, but don't know what would be considered fair to ask my landlady for compensation. Do you know?
