Federal truth in lending
Is it illegal for a mortgage company to alter and/or change the Federal Truth In Lending form after it has been signed

It would be for sure if the purpose or effect was to defraud the borrower. If the alteration had no material consequences, however, (such as correcting a Zip code), I'd say this was an insufficient ground to invalidate the document or give cause for civil suit or criminal charges. The law would take a practical rather than technical approach to assessing the wrongfulness of the alteration.
