Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
We feel our title and/or mortgage company owes us the sum of $2,100.00 because either or both companies delayed not only the schedule of the signing appointment for our closing documents on our house until a full seven days after receiving said paperwork from the mortgage company. This delay of appointment caused a delay of approximately the same time in the actual closing of our house. In turn this lead to a financial loss of $2,100.00 U.S. Dollars. If we had been notified of said delay in any way, we could have possibly notified the builder we contracted with and renegotiated the contract to avoid any financial penalties related to closing.
We need to know which company we need to file a lawsuit with to be remunerated the $2100.00 we're out?

I don't think either the lender or the title company is liable for this kind of damages.
