Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California
Fences and Views
I live on a cul-de-sac (middle house) and all properties are pie-shaped. My next door neighbor decided to build a six-foot fence just on his side of the property line (we did not agree so he could not use the property line). The fence will block the view of our house from the neighbors and will block our view out to the neighborhood. I am concerned two-fold. We watch each others' houses and mine will be blocked from view (safety). Second, I will be unable to see out my kitchen or dining room windows, which are the front windows of the house. This also will block the sun from the gardens in the front. We are not convinced that the fence is legal. Do I have any recourse? If so, what type of attorney should I seek and do you have any recommendations in my area?
