Legal Question in Real Estate Law in California

My fiance is incarcerated and his mother will not return my engagement ring, what can i do to get it back? I received a letter from my fiance stating that the ring belonged to me and she should return it.

Ask her why she will not return the ring. Send her a copy of his letter and point out she has no legal ownership interest in the ring and failure to turn it over only makes him and you angry and is illegal.
