foreclosure
my girlfriend is 22 years old. she is a waitress and a full time student. her mother asked if she could refiance her home under her name because of she didnt qualify due to her debt/income ratio. She said she had a buyer but it would take a little time for the process. well when my girlfriend applied for a credit card, she found out that her mother foreclosed on the home. my girlfriend is devasted because her credit/reputation is destroyed. is there anything my girlfriend can do?

Re: foreclosure
It is the lender who forecloses, not the one getting the loan. Basically it appears her mother pulled a fast one on her. But for your girl friend to qualify for a loan, her name would have to be on title, which would likely trigger the initial lender to foreclose; why would the bank lend to someone with very little income who has just bought a house from her mother. So I wonder if you have all the facts right. Check with your girlfriend and tell you have to have the whole honest story if you are going to get any worthwhile legal advice.
