Re: foreclosure
You can do a quick check on a website called RealtyTrac.com. The site won't let you put your address in, but you perform a search based on your zip code, then zoom into your address on the map they provide. This is not a 100% accurate way of determining if the home is in foreclosure. The most accurate way to determine if the home is being foreclosed is to go to the county recorder's office for the county in which the home is located, and perform a document search by your address. If you find something called a Notice of Default or Notice of Trustee's Sale, then a foreclosure has been started against the property. There are many articles on the internet that describe those documents and the timing involved from once they are recorded. Good luck.
