Re: forecosure/property taxes
Property taxes on land in California run with the land and are not a personal obligation.
Re: forecosure/property taxes
Taxes will be assessed to the owner of record, and so up until the day a trustee's deed is recorded, or technically until the date of the trustee's sale, the property taxes are for your account as owner. However, the practical impact of this is just to add a few more bucks to the amount that would come out of your share of the proceeds of foreclosure. Since in most foreclosures these days the borrower is "under water" and doesn't get any of the proceeds anyway, the fact that you are the person assessed does not have any practical implications unless you are liable for a deficiency judgment, and this is unusual.
