What is a guaranteer liable to pay for? If someone were to have an accident and sue the people living in the apartment, can they go after his/her money as well?

Re: Gauranteer

The term is guarantor. The terms of the written/signed guarantee specify the potential liability of the guarantor. This is an area of law that has a number of technical details about it which limit the guarantor's liability. Before agreeing to anything see an attorney first and have him/her review and research your obligations under the specific document. It may be that the document's terms are not specific enough to hold the guarantor responsible.
